Heavy but nice
I was concerned how well this would ship, anything being so heavy and having glass is a gamble. It arrived in perfect shape, though, and assembly was quick and easy. Instructions were easy to follow, the necessary hex wrench was included. In the future, the advertisements for these things should state the height of each shelf, because a standard video CD box will not stand up on either shelf.Otherwise I am satisfied.
Great value despite some cheap components and workmanship
Package arrived in rough shape, but did it’s job of protecting the contents. Upon opening the package, it seems that many scratches in the wood components were repaired with a black marker. Fortunately, these shoddy repairs were not overly visible once the unit was assembled. The glass shelves were also deeply scratched in a few places. It’s apparent that the manufacturing site does not handle the product components gently. (If you are very picky about such imperfections, you should look elewhere. Bell’O makes incredible AV furniture, but is more expensive.) All of that can be expected in a product at this price point, but what I found infuriating was the myriad absolute junk fasteners supplied for assembly. The cam locks were of three or four different makes, and broke very easily. They are made of cheap metal, and do a poor job of locking the unit together. Be prepared with extra cam locks (I think they can be found at Lowe’s and Home Depot.) We did not have any, and resorted to construction adhesive. All that being said, I still find this unit to be an exceptional value. It is stylish and looks great with a 52″ Sony LED TV. Just be prepared for some assembly frustration.
Great qualty TV stand
This Tv stand is much classier than I expected. Shiny black and smoked glass is perfect with our new 50″ HDTV. Better quality than expected for the price. The shape adds to the great style.
Great TV Stand!
Very nice looking stand at a great price!! It is the perfect size for a 50″ TV and looks awesome with the TV on it! It is made of good construction and was fairly easy to put together. 5 star product!!
Was what we needed!
So I really like this stand. There were some obvious issues with it. There were scratches on the wood pieces but only on the underside parts. They used black marker to cover the scratches, which is pretty silly, as it did not match the black paint at all.
I needed a small stand for our 50 inch Plasma because we have a very small little area. This worked perfectly, and it looks really nice.
The only drawback that I really see is the fact that our 5 disc DVD changer does not fit! The stand is narrow, so it sticks out probably 1.5 inches at the front. It was worse at first as I had it on the left and the cable box on the right, and the long cords in the back of the DVD player made it stick out over 3 inches! It was not going to work. But in switching the 2 boxes, there was open space in the back for the cords from the DVD player, and it worked much better.
I was also able to put this together without my husband’s assistance, and I am, well, not good at putting things together. It took me over an hour, but that is because I am terrible at it.
I am happy with the purchase. And it will allow us to get up to a 57 inch TV which makes the husband happy.
